The Book Bus by Citrus & Co. | A rolling indie bookstore tour | November 1, 2026 | 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. | Twin Cities

$120.00

Date: Saturday, November 1, 2026

The night before our last Book Bus, I was at dinner with a cancelled ticket in my pocket.

I looked around the room. Made eye contact with a woman I did not know. Walked up to her and said: “My name is Mikosa. I own a company that does really fun women’s events. You free tomorrow?”

She did not hesitate.

She said: “I’ve been waiting for something like this.”

She showed up the next morning with her writer friend. By the last bookstore stop, they had exchanged numbers with three other women on the bus. Two weeks later, those women are still meeting for book club.

That is what a $120 ticket actually buys you.

Not just the bookstores. Not just the books. The room. The women. The suddenly.

Saturday, November 1, 2026.

Boards at 10:50 AM, leaves at 11 AM.

Seats are limited. Last time sold out.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A bus that boards at 10:50 AM sharp and does not stop until you have visited indie bookstores owned by women, people of color, and our LGBTQ neighbors across the Twin Cities. We do not reveal the full route in advance. That is part of it.

A free bookish item in your hands.

Drinks made fresh by Afternoon Beverage Co. on board (à la carte, drinks are sold separately).

A group of women who do not know each other at 11 AM and are trading numbers by the last stop.

Nobody sits alone. Nobody has to figure out where to go next. Nobody has to drive. You just show up.

FAQ:

Can I come alone?

Yes. Most people do. We have never had someone leave the bus the way they boarded it.

What if I am late?

The bus leaves at 11 AM. We cannot hold it. Please plan to arrive by 10:45 AM.

Do I need to bring cash or card?

Mocktails, lunch, and books are at your own expense, with most vendors cashless (i.e. card or tap to pay). Bring however much you want to spend at bookstores.

Is this women-only?

No. Come Alone Summer is a women forward series. Men are absolutely welcome to join!

What should I wear?

Comfortable shoes. You will be in and out of bookstores. Dress like you are having the best Saturday of your summer – because you are.

What is your refund policy?

Tickets are refundable up to 36 hours before the event. Email MNCitrusco@gmail.com with the name change before October 29.

I’ve never been to a Citrus event. Is this for me?

Yes. Especially if you have never been. The Book Bus is where most women find us for the first time – and come back every time after.

Booked a ticket….. Now what?

First, yay. You’re in.

Here’s what happens next. The day before your event, we’ll email you your exact pickup location and address, plus everything you need to show up easy. Keep an eye on your inbox that day.

As for where we’re actually going….. we keep the stops a surprise on purpose. Half the joy is not knowing, just getting on the bus and letting the day unfold in front of you. It also keeps the day intimate and protects the small local shops we love from getting overwhelmed. Trust me….. it’s better this way. All you have to do is show up.
