Welcome. Pull up a chair. An note from Citrus & Co.

Wednesday night at La Doña Cervecería, thirty people who didn’t know each other played plant bingo for two hours and walked out carrying houseplants, phone numbers, and the kind of looseness in the shoulders you don’t get from anything except a really good night.

Three things I overheard before they left:

“I can’t believe how many plants we got.”

“This is the best group activity we’ve done in a while. We cleaned house.”

“My husband loves plants. And what better way to celebrate Earth Day. Look at the plants I won.”

That’s the room.

I want to tell you about it.

They won so many plants!

This is Citrus & Co.

I’m Mikosa Taylor. I’ve spent fifteen years building rooms. Rooms for people in my industry who needed somewhere that didn’t feel like work. Rooms on my block in Saint Paul. Rooms for women who lost their jobs and needed somewhere to land. Rooms in Belize. Now this one.

Citrus & Co. is most of what I’ve learned about what makes a room work, finally pulled into one ecosystem.

The plants are the excuse. The room is the point. We’re really good at building rooms women want to be in, and that part is staying. But the door is open. Wednesday at La Doña proved that. There were husbands. There were friends. There were strangers who left as not-strangers. Everyone had a hand in keeping the room loose.

That’s how I build.

Why La Doña Cerveza.

Here’s the thing about partners. You can’t fake the why.

The first time I walked into La Doña, they were closed. I didn’t know. I just showed up. The owner opened the door, told me they weren’t open yet, and then took the time to make sure I knew exactly when their rooms WERE open. He didn’t have to do that. Most people would have shrugged and shut the door.

That moment told me everything.

This brewery and the staff has a magnetic charm, attracting people even before they step foot inside. La Doña creates an ambiance that makes you eager to spend a Wednesday night there. Their team said yes to Plant Bingo because we share a vision. Spaces and tables for people, on purpose, with care.

When the partners are right, the room is right. La Doña was right.

Six tables. One ecosystem.

This is what Citrus & Co. is. Six rooms I oversee, each one built for a different reason someone might need a table.

Book Club is the anchor.

  • Real conversations about real books with people who actually finished them.

LOL Collective is the deeper work.

  • A women’s economic incubator I co-founded with Heidi Schaefer. We’ve served over 205 women since 2023.

Mutual Aid MN is the infrastructure.

  • Resources, donations, neighbors helping neighbors. Core to the work, not a side pocket.

Dining Experiences are the small tables.

  • Curated, intentional, intentionally short on small talk.

Private Events are yours.

  • Your birthday, your anniversary, the gathering you’ve been wanting to host but couldn’t quite figure out how.

Seasonal Experiences are the ones you didn’t know you were waiting for.

Plant Bingo. Bus tours. Palm Springs book retreats, Mikosa’s favorite things tour, vintage hopping day, Grandma camp.

Some of these tables will skew toward women. Some won’t.

All of them are built the same way.

With intention, with honesty, and with a seat that was empty on purpose because someone who needed it hadn’t arrived yet.

If Wednesday found you, here’s what’s next.

Two doors. Pick the one that feels like yours.

Subscribe to the list.

  • I’ll tell you when the next room is being set. No pressure, no spam, no posturing.

See the six tables.

  • Find the one that’s calling you. Tap it. We’ll talk.

The table is always better lit when you’re at it.

Pull up a chair.
